blood bag with text to donate blood

Did you know that 1 pint of blood can save 3 lives ? Donating blood is simple and can be easily done in a few minutes. An individual can donate once every three months.

Why You Should Donate

  • Human Blood cannot be manufactured anywhere.
  • The only source of human blood is human blood donation.
  • Adult human body contains about 5 to 6 litres of blood, out of which ONLY 350 to 400 ml  (i.e. 5-7% of the total blood in your body) is taken at a time.
  • The donated blood is reproduced back by your Body within 12 to 24 hours.
  • Its an entirely safe procedure and takes ONLY 5 to 7 minutes.
  • The entire procedure is supervised by a team of highly qualified doctors and paramedical staff.
  • The blood is collected in Sterile Blood Bags and the seal of the needle is broken in front of the donor to eliminate fears of tampering with the needle.
  • The used needles are permanently terminated immediately after the blood donation procedure to prevent any misuse or reuse in the future.
  • The blood donation procedure is commenced only after thorough screening (including Hemoglobin levels, weight and other vital examinations) of the prospective donor to ensure compete well being of the donor, both pre and post blood donation.
  • The donors are also informed of their blood group directly.
  • Each donor is issued with a Donor Card specifying his or her blood group. This card would enable donors to avail a bag of Blood in their times of need FREE of charge. It would also have a LIFELONG validity.
